Communications campaign all wrapped up

19/10/2011

Burst pipes can be a real disaster, but it’s something that can be easily avoided.

To kick start a communications campaign targeted at Yorkshire homeowners, we helped Yorkshire Water bring this message home with a PR stunt that demonstrated just how easy it is to prepare your house for winter.

We created a 20m long blue and white scarf made out of the lagging used to insulate pipes, and wrapped it around a home in Wakefield to give a strong visual message about the need to protect your home.  With a dusting of snow to give the house a wintry blast, the masterpiece was complete.

Having been called out to fix over 2,000 burst pipes last year (three times more than normal), Yorkshire Water’s ‘Wrap Up’ campaign is about educating consumers and preventing winter disasters. Our creative concept captured this message perfectly, and with the scarf being featured on BBC and ITV news programmes and in online and national media, our client's campaign is off to a great start.
