M&S go green: we go to work

31/03/2011

Sustainability has always been a big issue for M&S. Using its nationwide campaign Plan A, it’s working hard to become the world’s most sustainable major retailer by 2015 – an admirable ambition.

As part of the pre-launch work around its new sustainable learning store, we were asked to produce a video, presentations and an industry paper on the plans. The idea was for us to communicate the uniqueness of the revolutionary 12,400ft Simply Food store which is being built exclusively on a brownfield site on Ecclesall Road.

Complete with one-of-a-kind features such as rainwater-supplied toilets, a living roof and walls, and sun pipes to reduce energy use, the store is set to become one of the most sustainable retail outlets in the UK.
