Setting the tone for 2012 at M&S

Having performed well over a tough festive period, M&S need to take that same Christmas spirit into 2012 and beyond, as they look to build for the future while continuing to achieve good results in the first few months of the New Year.

A day of two halves, January’s Retail Conference was about setting that ‘more of the same’ tone, and about building confidence and clarity around the business’s longer-term plans.

As well as managing all the logistics for the event, Logistik worked closely with the Retail Leadership Team and other key stakeholders to develop the theme, content and creative execution for the plenary and breakout sessions.

With a theme of ‘Lead to win’, the event built on messages that delegates had heard at the Q3 conference in October, but also focused on the vital role Store Managers play in leading their teams.

Managers left with a compelling vision for the future, and their part in delivering it, plus a clear action plan for the coming quarter. Cascade packs reiterating those key messages will help managers engage their teams in what’s happening and what they need to do.

Feedback from the day has been extremely positive; with managers saying they appreciated the balance of honest messages about how business performance, clear deliverables and inspirational call to arms from senior leaders.
