Logistik has become one of the first UK companies to be certified to a new global sustainability standard introduced for the London 2012 Olympics.
Having recently won three Business in The Community (BiTC) Big Ticks, we are now certified to ISO 20121 – the rigorous new International Standard for Sustainable Events Management.
Dirk Mischendahl, Joint Managing Director, said: “Logistik’s sustainability systems have reached full maturity in 2012. Everyone’s really got to grips with how they work, and we can now show both innovation and return on investment.”
ISO 20121 recognises Logistik’s on-going drive to reduce our environmental footprint and be more socially responsible whilst continuing to flourish financially – our ‘triple bottom line’ approach to sustainability.
Dirk added: “We take so much out, it’s only right that we put back in.”
To gain ISO 20121, companies must prove to an external auditor that sustainability “is an integral part of the event management process and not an additional ‘add-on’ component”.
ISO 20121 was introduced to coincide with London 2012, setting a new international standard for sustainable events management with all Olympic venues being certified.
